It had been the best night of my life. And that was saying something since every single night since I’d met Eric—it felt strange even to think his first name—had been amazing. The only thing that would have made it better was if he’d come back to my apartment with me and spent the night. But he never did. Every time, he’d drop me off and leave.

Maybe it was for the best anyway. As much as I loved being with him, it was intense. I could use the break to catch my breath and get some sleep. Not that I ever slept very much after seeing him. My dreams were full of him. He dominated my thoughts. And I loved it.

In fact, I loved him.

There was no doubt, I was completely and totally falling in love with him. And it was fantastic!

After our date, by some miracle I was able to get some sleep and I woke up refreshed and ready to face a day of classes. Even my studies had taken on a new level of excitement and enjoyment lately. Maybe that’s what love did for a person. It made everything a bit brighter.

After a shower and a quick bite to eat, I was just about to head out for the day when I saw Daddy’s leather vest hanging over the chair. How could I forget that he’d given it to me to keep me warm? He was so thoughtful and caring. It was way too big for me, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to smell him and feel close to him. I pulled my sweater off and slipped into his vest.

The leather was heavy but the weight of it reminded me of the way he held me in his arms and kissed me. It turned me on just wearing it. Maybe it wasn’t a good idea after all. It could be too distracting.

I laughed at the thought. There was no way I wasn’t going to wear it. I tried to shove my cell phone into the pocket, but there was something in there. I reached in and pulled out Daddy’s wallet.

I held it in my hand for a moment and turned it around. Looking in his wallet wasn’t really an invasion of privacy, was it? It wasn’t like it was a diary, or a cell phone...

My curiosity got the best of me and I flipped it open. The plastic edge of his driver’s license peeked out the top, so I slid it out. He was so crazy handsome, but no one looked good in their driver’s license picture. I was prepared to laugh at it and tease him about it later, but...

The name on the license wasn’t his.

It was his picture, but it wasn’t his name.

Shane Grant.

Shane.

Not Eric, but Shane.

Shane Grant.

I rolled the name around in my head. I’d heard it before. A lot.

With the license that was Daddy’s but wasn’t Daddy’s still in my hand, I grabbed my laptop and typed in the name.
